Roasted by Berlin’s Five Elephant, this release from the Karatu Coffee Factory showcases the best of Kenya’s famed highlands. Grown in mineral-rich red volcanic soils under ideal rainfall and mild temperatures, this lot is cultivated by smallholder farmers who balance coffee with crops like tea, maize, and legumes.

Under the guidance of factory manager David Kanya and the Gitwe Farmers Cooperative Society, member farmers meticulously hand-sort and deliver only perfectly ripe cherries. Supported by Coffee Management Services (CMS), the cooperative actively invests in sustainable farming seminars and agronomic support to improve yields and livelihoods. Fully washed and dried on raised beds, this coffee delivers a strikingly clean and vibrant profile with signature notes of purple plum, cranberry, and lime.
